Course Overview:

The second year (level 11) theory and practice courses continue to focus on the three main methods of social work practice for the generalist practitioner. This semester (1) the student further explores the underlying theoretical perspectives and selected intervention approaches for work with individuals, families and treatment groups.(Next semester, the focus will be on social work practice with task groups and communities). The focus is on the main theories/ practice framework which underpin this area of practice. The course examines features that the theories hold in common and their relevance and applicability to social work practice in Caribbean settings.
