This course focuses on children with special education needs in early childhood settings (3 - 8 years old).
It is based on a developmental approach and includes content focusing on the various areas of exceptionality in terms of etiology, characteristics, identification, strategies for adapting the learning environment, modifying instruction and ensuring that the curriculum is accessible through an inclusive education for young children with special needs.
Attention is given to regional and international laws, legislations, regulations and policies that influence professional practice, the referral process, community resources, and effective ways to work with families.
