In this course, students learn graduate level reading and writing processes through exposure to and analysis of relevant readings and scholarly texts in media and communication.

Through interaction with researchers and scholarly writers, students learn the conventions of academic writing and practice using those conventions in a variety of learning tasks. Through exposure to feedback from their peers and academic instructors, students should improve their skills in evaluating and selecting the material they need to produce a variety of academic texts e.g. summaries, annotated bibliographies, abstracts, literature and book reviews, essays and research papers.
