Prelim Biology students,
Welcome to BIOL0012.
Aim: To equip students with a basic knowledge of the systems in plants and animals.
Course outline, objective, assessment; laboratory manual and lecture notes are available on this site.
Syllabus: Systems in animals and plants: Nutrition, respiration,
photosynthesis, transport, coordination and control, movement and support,
excretion and osmoregulation, reproduction, growth and development, organisms
and the environment.
Practical
Work:
A study of living, fresh and preserved plants and animals and prepared slides
to demonstrate plant and animal form and the relationship between form and
function.
