This course introduces the student to the basic concepts, physical, chemical and biological, of freshwater habitats, as well as familiarising them with the main groups of animals and plants associated with freshwater habitats and their adaptations. Particular emphasis is placed on the interrelationships of the fauna within communities and on the influence of physical conditions.
