Integration has been associated with the primary curriculum in Jamaica for many years. It was a key organising principle in the curriculum guides- Education for Self Reliance - introduced into Jamaican primary schools in the 1980s.ln the revision of those guides almost two decades later, integration has been treated in greater depth. As teachers in primary schools grapple with the implementation of the new integrated curriculum it is essential that they be given the skills and understandings necessary to aid effective implementation. Practical exercises in the development of integrated curricula represent a key feature of this course
