Do you dig the past? HIST 2801 is a practical course focused on archaeological methods, including survey, excavation and various forms of material analysis. As we study these methods, we will also consider theories and principles related to interpreting the material and spatial evidence that make up our data. This course is designed to reflect the research process of archaeology. Through in-class discussions and mandatory work in the field and laboratory, students will get a real sense of the job of an archaeologist.
