The course “Essentials of English Grammar” presents an approach to English grammar which recognizes that the language varies across different regions where English is spoken either as a first language or as a major language of communication. Hence, scholars have taken to using the term “Englishes”.
You will be introduced to the terminology relevant to understanding pronunciation, lexicon, and morphosyntax, and become familiar with an inductive approach to understanding these different areas of grammar. The aim is to equip you with the tools for life-long language learning and with confidence in your ability to interact with speakers of Englishes around the world.
