This course provides discussion and analysis around classic and contemporary film appreciation. A significant feature of this course is building discourse around a Caribbean Aesthetic. Understanding basic concepts in film form, techniques and meaning is key in creating compelling films. It is a difficult thing to convince young filmmakers that they must read but without the knowledge of why and how to sway, it is impossible to make layered, memorable films.
