This course is designed to introduce concepts and issues in investment analysis and portfolio management. It discusses and explains the nature of the decision-making process involved in the investment function and in so doing provides a frame of reference against which students can make sound value judgement on the basis of their analysis of returns and risks of investment. In effect, the course is designed to bring the principles of investment and good theory into the practical decision-making process. It is also intended to lay the foundation for students who will be pursuing professional qualifications for example, Chartered Financial Analysts designation.
