The course introduces students to some of the main economic problems facing the productive sectors in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) ― Agriculture, Transportation, Tourism, and Industry.  The course also discusses the measures that have been implemented to improve the workings of the CARICOM economies, and the major constraints that limit the full achievement of economic objectives. In addition, the course will touch on related macroeconomic problems of growth, development, balance of payments imbalances, and foreign indebtedness.
