Women and Gender in the History of the English-speaking Caribbean is a study of problems, issues and theoretical aspects of gender and women's historical experience in the English-speaking Caribbean from colonisation to the early twenty first century. It also briefly explores the gender issues in the region before the English arrived. The  goals of this course are to provide an understanding of the theory of women and gender history of the Caribbean and the historical experience of women and gender issues in the Caribbean from colonization to the post-independence period. There are six units, each with its own set of objectives.
