This course applies relevant theories, concepts and tools to four of the most pressing issues in international relations today: the rise of China, international aid, global health, migration and terrorism. Each issue is treated as a module comprising of a general overview, definition of terms, historical bases, and relevant theoretical framework. Three of the four modules will also contain a film and a lecture on how the issue relates to the Caribbean. The overall goal is to clarify and consolidate the link between the theory and practice of IR and to investigate how IR relates to the lives of indivi8duals.

The course comprises of one 2-hour lecture for 13 weeks and one tutorial hour for 10 weeks.
