This course seeks to analyze the evolution of Caribbean culture by focusing on the various forms and media of communication through which that culture has been expressed historically and contemporarily. Essentially the course seeks to explore the relationship between culture and communication in Caribbean society. Emphasis will be placed on traditional and new media in their socio-sutlrual and transformational aspects. This also includes the influences of these newer technologies on the professional formation of Caribbean media practitioners and media practices. The course will also provide students with the opportunity to incude their self-expression and creativity in articulating their understanding of how Caribbean people communicate.
