UWI Quality Day 2019
Dear Students,
You are specially invited to celebrate with us World Quality Day 2019. As a student at Mona, you are one of the key stakeholders in the evaluation of quality on the Campus in all areas, from teaching to administration and support services.
This month, all Campuses of The University of the West Indies will, for the first time, join in the celebration of World Quality Day. This will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2019 commencing at 2:00pm in the Tent near the Undercroft under the theme: 71 years of quality: your chance to build and influence UWI.
The primary objectives are:
ØTo create awareness about The UWI Quality Policy
ØTo highlight areas in which The UWI Mona, has been efficiently and effectively utilizing its human, physical, technological, information and financial resources., but also identify areas that need strengthening.
At The UWI we believe that quality is everybody's business, hence we are taking an inclusive approach for Quality Day 2019. Departments have been invited to have booths displaying their quality work. The formal celebrations will last no more than two hours, commencing promptly at 2:00 p.m. with an opening ceremony that should last no more than ten (10) minutes. A panel discussion follows immediately after and it should last no more than forty-five (45) minutes.
Following the panel discussion there will be breakout sessions to provide an opportunity for our internal stakeholders, including staff and especially you as students, to identify the strengths and weakness of service and operations (teaching, research, public service, governance and administration). To close, we will have a special performing artiste you are sure to enjoy.
