This course provides you with an opportunity to explore investigatory (inquiry-based) teaching strategies and to be also actively engaged in investigations. You will examine the nature of a problem-solving approach to teaching, familiarize yourselves with ways in which you can transform mundane, rote-based exercises to open-ended questions aimed at stimulating mathematical thinking and develop your competency in inquiry-based approaches to teaching mathematics. An important element of the course will be the experience you will gain as you engage in the use of investigations with a learner and share this experience with your colleagues.
